Steel wheels

Back to the braces that adorn old buildings again and some really big ones too. The top one looks a like a wheel but the other looks like a giant paella or pizza dish.
This particular pair, along with two more of each style, are on our south facing wall. Obviously there's a mirror image on the the northern wall too making a total of twelve. Either way that's lot of cast iron and steel rod going right through the building to brace it against subsidence and twist.
Why the two different styles and patterns? Perhaps they were simply added at different times or maybe they were all that was in stock.
Either way the castings make a functional piece of ornament and look good as well.
