Actually it's 27, but 77 Sunset Strip sounds much snappier.
Anyway forget the cones, cubes and spheres of the formal garden's clipped hedges, here in Norfolk topiary has to work for a living and its got to communicate too.
Big numbers clipped into the conifer hedge allow for no mistake for knocking on the wrong door or delivering a letter to the wrong house. Masterful.
Now, the boss and I are planting a box hedge in front of HQ and I can already see the numerals 159 about ten feet high in a space in the hedge, back-lit at night of course.
The big decision is what typeface should it clipped in; Perpetua, Clarendon or Albertus, that's always a favourite... but as always my plans have beens dashed and the image in my minds eye has been uprooted, box is slow growing and doesn't even reach that height.
Ah well, back to the drawing board!
