As high as an Elephants eye?

The dry weather continues and everything is bone dry but despite the cracks in the earth in the orchards and fields at least the maize is growing like crazy. It grows so fast that you can almost see it growing. The maize growing here is for the farmer's cattle to be ground up as feed to be used as feed in the winter sadly not for barbecued sweetcorn.

The cracks in the maize fields are growing too, so much so that I have to keep Lucie on the lead because if she sets off chasing rabbits and drops a paw in one that could end up being a breakage and a nasty Vets bill. However the rains will come, eventually, but it will take a lot to close these cracks up.
