We've seen some strange vegetables over the summer and early autumn but when we unearthed this one in the potato patch we knew All Hallows Eve was just around the corner, after all the nights are drawing in.
What dare we do with this strange specimen? Replant it, make chips, boil it in water, bake it, perhaps add it to a potato salad or a dish of bombay potato. Maybe cook it in hot coals, even frighten people with it or better still bury it under a large stone?
Imagine feeling that monster while rooting about in the potato bag on a dark night, that'll teach you not to turn the light on!
Did Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley or HP Lovecraft ever write a recipe book? We thought not, better let the imagination run wild.
