Let the logging begin

The boss and I have taken delivery of the first trailer load of wood for burning next winter.
The farmer brought his tractor over with the hydraulic log splitter attached and in an hour and a half the whole load has been split and is ready for stacking. Once this heap of wood is neatly stacked the sun and wind will accelerate the drying and seasoning process then we're ready to glow. Sorry.
Hopefully we'll have a summer before then and there'll be a lot more logs for us to split and stack too.
Even one of the terriers looks excited at the prospect although the excitement may be more to do with the prospect of lying in front of the wood burner warming her belly.
