Just back from the morning walk where our two Jack Russell Terriers have been charging around the orchards, headlands and dykes chasing rats both real and imagined plus the odd partridge, rabbit and crow that was foolish enough to raise a head above the grass. They've had their treat and now the exercise, which was real, has caught up with them both.
The sun on the belly must feel good, the seat is comfortable and now it's time to enjoy the wonderful sleeping pastime of 'dog dreams' and virtual hunting.
Within minutes they will both be running in their sleep, flat out in every sense of the word.
