Underground harvest

The contractor growing potatoes on the farmer's land said we could help ourselves if we needed potatoes, well it would be rude not to. So we did, and that is the result from one plant. The second digging yielded ten and a half pounds from one plant so they're just getting better and better. This variety doesn't take to storing and gassing terribly well so they will all go to market as fresh potatoes and they'll be all the better for it.
The variety is called Agri and they are a beautiful pale buttery, golden yellow before and after they are cooked. The contractor said that they were good for roasting and he's not wrong but as it turns out they chip, bake and slice well too. Lovely.
We'll dig a few more yet and hopefully a sack will come our way when they are harvested in a week or two.
