Fen Gothic

A dramatic late evening sky that could have come straight from an atmospheric  description in a horror or ghost story written by Sheridan Le Fanu, M.R.James or Bram Stoker. It has all the Gothic foreboding and menace in the scene as the sun slipped below the horizon and darkness finally fell. The kind of evening where you whistle loudly to keep your spirits up while constantly glancincing glancing over your shoulder just to be sure that there's nothing there watching or following.
It is a constant source of amazement to me how the weather conditions out on the fen can change the mood and atmosphere in almost the blink of an eye. The vapour trails spoil the sense of foreboding a little but just ignore them.
The cinema of the sky, it's just fantastic.
      The nights are drawing in.
