There's something in the air

The walk with the two terriers on this particular morning was one of those moments when every thing was just as perfect as it could be. It was warm, shirtsleeve weather in fact, very little wind at all and everything was looking at its springtime best. A real treat and a pleasure to be alive.

The blossom in the orchard was heaving with bees and insects and I'd just seen the first House Martin of the year and on the same date as last year too, that's good timing for a little bird that has flown all the way from the west coast of Africa. Talk about punctuality and to add to that the first cuckoo was 'cuckoo-ing' away in the poplar trees.

Perhaps most amazingly the two terriers, Barney and Luce were behaving themselves, they'd both had a pee on 'stumpy' the old plum tree and gone on their way without any aggravation whatsoever. On top of that even the crows and pigeons weren't getting chased by them and neither were the scarecrows being barked at or peed on. Amazing.
There really must be something in the air but no doubt normal terrier service will be resumed very, very soon.

  2. the orchard is one of those places that is a refuge in a way. Plums, brambles, ten kinds of apple. I love it and so do the terriers. All the best, John
