A splash of colour

Unbelievable, a new use for old urinals.
Three sad old and redundant stainless steel urinals given a new and unexpected lease of life after being put out to grass. Easy to water too with no danger of flooding or soaking your feet. Careful aim with the hose means the surplus water runs out at the bottom. A most desirable design feature for any planter.
The simple addition of some general purpose compost, peat-free of course, double bloom pink impatiens and toning red begonias and what a display this makes creating the proverbial splash of colour.
At the moment the urinals are painted Hammerite maroon but next year a new coat of paint and a new colour just to show their versatility and ability to fit in with any garden colour scheme.
Now to browse the Hammerite colour card and get watering because the weatherman's promised biblical downpour hasn't arrived yet.
