Stocking up



      The Boss has been busy, very busy. She's been making sweet chilli sauce, pickles, jams, vinegars and jellies both sweet and savoury with the surfeit of beautiful local produce that is now in season and a great deal of the fruit and vegetables are free on the barter system. It started with the strawberries, then the raspberries, blackberries, plums, apples - anyway you get the idea. Now we are completely hooked and the 'winter cupboard' is filling up.
      We've grown our own chillies, garlic and tomatoes, added ketchup, sultanas and fresh ginger for the sweet chilli sauce and I recommend it without reservation. Hot but not too hot although the Habaneros aren't ready to be picked yet.
      Now to fit the padlock to the 'winter cupboard' to keep the family and friends out when they come to loot and pillage!
