A thing of beauty

In the agricultural heartland of West Norfolk, a little triumph. A little glowing red beauty, one of our five a day.
Small but well made the very first vine tomato has been harvested. Like all farmers we blame the weather conditions, they haven't been good for growing tomatoes outdoors although the chillies do seem to be managing to put weight on, maybe it's down to the positioning?
Recipe books have been scoured for suitable tomato serving suggestions and there was even talk of a 'hostess trolley' for the perfect presentation at the table but popping it in whole would seem to be the way forward.
Here goes. Lovely! Firm, tender skin, juicy and bursting with flavour.
Now we wait for the next tomato to ripen.
