There are just dozens to choose from and I'm sure there are some whose names have become lost in the mists of time but they have all got one thing in common; they are delicious even if that word doesn't appear in all their names.
We have such a choice and the pleasure is working through them all to find out just which variety is a particular favourite; the apple to look forward to next year. Fortunately they all mature at different times over the coming weeks so there's plenty of tasting and testing to be carried out.
We'll report back, but a decision in November seems about right.
