Hanging on the gallery wall

After the allotment

This is one of a series of four linocuts; each in five colours commissioned by those lovely people at Old Town who are based at Holt in Norfolk. The prints were published in the Old Town Evening Star and were part of a special supplement on the North East.
The BSA Gold Star with side car carries the vegetable grower, his produce, faithful Jack Russell and garden fork to the club for a well earned pint and a Woodbine. Then it's the ride home for a roast beef Sunday dinner that has been in the oven since ten o' clock and to complete the scene is the sound of BBC Radio's two-way Family Favourites with Jean Metcalfe in London and Bill Crozier in Cologne. This would be followed by the Billy Cotton Band Show and Meet the Huggets.
After that? Fall asleep in the armchair and wake up in time to take the Jack Russell for a walk to the club for a pint and a port and lemon for the boss.
