Log envy

You know how it is; you think your log pile is pretty impressive and then you see somebody else's log store and it's huge, tons of it and log envy sets in.

A row of old pigpens that have beeen converted into lovely dry log stores and inside are tons of beautifully seasoned fruit wood; apple, pear and plum from the trees that were uprooted when the local orchards were turned over to arable crops.

In Cold Comfort Farm there was 'something nasty in the woodshed', not here, there's just loads of wood that will burn slowly and smell wonderful. So really there's something nice in this particular woodshed, well apart from the spiders, mice, insects, hibernating bees and probably a few rats too.

I'll do my Christmas list now. Applewood logs and lots of them, list finished!
