A deluxe Nissen hut 'that'll be the model with windows sir', basks in the November sunshine gently warming its black corrugated roof and toning perfectly with the ploughed earth and the autumn foliage.
This is another wartime hut that is still working for its keep and being beautifully maintained in return for a lifetime of faithful service. We think they are a design masterpiece, in fact a design icon and can see it now on 'Escape to the Country'. The mystery house has a Nissen Hut in its extensive grounds, now that would be the clincher; two homes for the price of one.
I want one, strangely the boss says no and I can't think why. We could save a small one, transport it home and restore it to its former splendour using bitumenous paint or even camouflage paint; I'm getting excited now!
