Golden and even more delicious

A bit of a cold snap, finally, and the Golden Delicious are at their very, very best even though some have slight cosmetic damage because of a hail storm earlier in their life.
I've become an addict, eating one every time we pass the trees whilst walking the dogs; the trouble is biting into them on a frosty morning is a test of just how sensitive your teeth, or fillings are, but the taste is unsurpassed. Absolutely delicious, no pun intended
Is the wonderful taste because the cold is concentrating the sugars? I'm sure a wine expert would say so, the cold must act a little a little like it does on those frozen grapes they harvest to make sweet wine.
The first really icy morning I promise to check, well I will if the birds don't get them all.
