Carved in stone.

Out on patrol, me driving and the boss in the turret, we called into one of our favourite watering holes and there tucked away in the corner of the room we found this fabulous hearth.
The 'watering hole' is in fact a beautifully converted village school with, to use estate agent speak, many original features and this is one of the jewels in the crown.
Carved by a local mason it is a real pleasure to look at and certainly more visually stimulating than most of the programming on the television. Unfortunately it was lunchtime and the fire wasn't lit, still that's an excuse to return one evening.
I bet Harry Flashman would have approved of this little gem too.
