A postcard from the Middle Level

The Middle Level Drain at Morton's Bridge fifty yards wide and in winter that is what I would call an intimidating stretch of water.
There was nobody fishing on either bank for as far as you could see behind and in front of the camera. Just you, the wind and the birds; there wasn't even a tractor to be heard to disturb the peace of arcadia.
Just think of all those fish down there: bream, carp, tench, eels, roach, rudd, perch, pike and zander and not forgetting the noble gudgeon.
Well if you're an angler reading this, do you feel lucky?
