Four lady birds huddled together, for warmth we presume, on an apple branch in the orchard. Do ladybirds huddle together for warmth? It must be kind of tricky to get warm when you're all wearing red armour.
Under the portico over our front door there are dozens of them filling the corners of a drip channel. That I can understand because of the shelter but this position on the apple tree isn't exactly sheltered. maybe they shuffle round the other side if the wind blows on to them?
In all probability they'll ended up as a Sunday dinner for one of the birds that are patrolling the orchard hunting for food, they even look like edible red berries, so poor marks for camouflage.
They're certainly an easy target dressed in red armour and looking like mini Samurai.
