The asparagus pops up

      Oh what anticipation and what joy when it finally appears; the asparagus season has finally started. No doubt it has been helped on by the warm weather but who cares it's arrived and it's available so let's get picking those little, rather phallic, beauties.
      The season for fresh asparagus is short and finally peaks in a bit of a glut, but like any freshly picked seasonal fruit or vegetable the produce is in a class of it's own.
      Roll on the rest of the seasonal fruit and vegetables.
      We can't wait but we'll just have to.
