The Oystercatcher
This is a four colour linocut for a fishing friend and he intends using it as a logo for his business.
We know that the Oystercatcher isn't really a Fenland bird but we have seen them in small groups on waterlogged fields having a bit of a wormfest. In reality, they are a coastal and estuary bird.
In winter they develop a strange half white collar and we always feel that they look like a flock of flying vicars or priests zooming along the foreshore.
There, that's your thought for the day.
