We're still looking for a really traditional scarecrow but while we suppose we have a little nostalgia for the Worzle Gummidge stuffed with straw, the old clothes wearing character scarecrows have moved on.
The noisy plastic kite skittering and rattling in the wind on the end of a carbon fibre pole looks pretty enough but it wouldn't give us nightmares but there were no pigeons on the peas so it must be doing its job.
While the swinging and swaying clothing has a little more human form; albeit it one that has been hung drawn and quartered.
That sounds a bit scarier but meanwhile we'll maintain our search for an original. Watch this space.
