In West Norfolk, despite the distance from London, we hate to be left out of any Royal celebrations; after all we have got Sandringham just up the road.
Ironically the weather is how I remember it on the day of the Coronation, pouring with rain and grey; it was even like that on Auntie Lily's black and white TV, a 12" screen and just shades of grey with 'snow' fuzzing the screen up.
Even Giles the resident cartoonist in the Sunday Express always portrayed Bank Holidays as wet, after all it's a great British tradition.
