Fenland birds

The Heron




      They seem to be better fisherman than me but I suppose they are on the water a lot more. They are always under pressure too, if they don't fish they simply don't eat, no wonder they always look lean and hungry.
      I've heard people get cross about them raiding their fishponds but if you put technicolour fish in shallow clear water the Heron will find them and fill his boots.
      A bit like shooting fish in a barrel really, he can't miss.

      The Heron is a linocut in three colours and measures 12cm x 12cm.
