Oh joy! They are a bit late because of the 'wonderful weather' we've been enjoying but they are perfectly ripe.
So, from now until the end of the season it's going to be strawberries with everything and then there is the added bonus of the strawberry jam making to replenish the winter cupboard.
Despite this bounty there is one problem and that's how you pick the little beauties. I've settled on a technique that means one in the bowl then two for me.
When I'm picking four pounds for the jam making I can't understand why I feel queasy and the guts rumble for hours afterwards!
