When the Rufus the old terrier died a couple of weeks ago we expected a three or four month wait for a 'rehoming' terrier to turn up, in fact we said the terrier would find us, not the other way round.
Just over two weeks later he has found us, we've been ambushed by yet another Jack Russell and we're back to 'Two Terriers'.
There's been a bit of teeth baring and growling while Minnow establishes the 'pecking order' but now the two of them are like brother and sister at arms, and guarding is being taken very seriously, as if it's a competition. No dog can replace Rufus but, uncannily, there are traits in Barney that are very, very similar.
