Hints of Autumn tints

We were out walking the two terriers on a cooler morning along a farm drove when we noticed that the colours closest to us had quietly changed, the palette had gently turned autumnal, rather than the vibrant greens of early summer.
As if to emphasise the change the flowers at the edge of the pea field, not garden peas but seed peas, were also distributing their seeds on the wind from a dry and dessicated plant.
The wheat field on the opposite side has been harvested, baled and the compressed 'tramlines', where the tractor drives through the wheat spraying against mildew and pests, is already broken up by the soil buster to ease the compressed soil ready for ploughing.
Autumn is just over the horizon and closing in.
