Hedgerow harvest

We were walking the two terriers the other morning when we spotted a length of hedgerow with several hazel bushes growing side-by-side. Closer examination revealed a small, but tasty crop of hazelnuts so the location was consigned to memory for a foraging expedition at the first opportunity.
There were plenty of empty husks on the ground where the nuts had been blown off the bush by the high winds and provided an alfresco feast for the mice and other rodents.
They'll provide an alfresco foraged feast for us later with a glass of wine and some bread and cheese. Sorry mice.
