Bite, peck, pick

The crop of Jonogold apples is ripening beautifully. Late apples that are maturing on the  tree and they look fantastic, taste fantastic and are unbelievably juicy. Although the picture was taken a few weeks ago the apples are still there but leaves are now rapidly falling to the orchard floor.
It's not just us that likes them, the birds are tucking into a feast too and after we've picked what we need there will still be plenty hanging there for our feathered friends when the really hard, cold weather begins to bite.
Meanwhile we'll continue to enjoy them and the birds, deer and other inhabitants of the orchard will too.
