Golden days, a mug of tea and a slice of Cherry Bismarck Cake

After a weekend of unremitting rain and all round greyness the boss and I have woken up in a different county. So out with the dogs we go and tour several orchards picking some Jonagold and checking the Golden Delicious that remain from what has been a poor crop this year.
They are looking good so tomorrow there will have to be a tasting because these bear no resemblance to those insipid offerings found in the supermarkets.
Right, time for a mug of tea and a slice of 'Cherry Bismarck Cake' and out we go with the dogs for another muddy walk.
By the way, it's called 'Cherry Bismarck Cake' because the cherries always sink to the bottom no matter what techniques are employed to prevent this happening
I think the answer is to put even more cherries in!
