Night before, morning after

Yet again a clear night with moonlight changes to a cloud-filled 'shepherd's warning' sky by the next morning. The clouds under the moon lying towards the Norfolk coast are the last of those that brought the dusting of snow the night before, now they are moving away the stars are visible in the clear night sky above us and we went to bed expecting a frost.
The cold wind of the day before remained the next morning but no frost. First thing the two terriers streaked out, had a pee and went back on their beds.
Mid morning and the fire in the wood burner is burning merrily and although the terriers can be easy enough to tempt out for the evening walk, for the time being they are toasting their tummies while lying in pole position.
