Not even the sound of a tractor disturbs the blanket of silence created by the fog, no birdsong, farm animals or barking dogs. One thing is certain, I'd rather be walking the dogs in this weather than driving on the motorway.
By the time we got to the end of the drove the light had improved but the two terriers were concentrating on silent rat hunting and occasionally sniffing the air for interesting scents. They finally decided that it all seemed rather fruitless and resorted to a running scrap between themselves to liven things up.
Is this pike fishing weather?
Not surprisingly the boss reckons any weather is pike fishing weather as far as I'm concerned.
