Fog on the Fen

A sunny but cold day and at midday the fog came pouring across the fields damping out the sounds and bringing an eerie quiet to the landscape and still it thickens, this could easily end up as a real pea-souper.
Occasionally you can hear a bird but you can't see it, even the fast jet activity has ceased, and there we were hoping for an aerobatic display this afternoon. The river and the lake are frozen so a Pike fishing expedition has been abandoned.
The plan to replace that outing with one with the gun, to hunt the pigeons that are chewing through the young oil seed rape plants has also had to be abandoned because the visibility is down to twenty yards.
I think I'd better pop over to Lakenheath and get a new radar controlled gunnery system fitted.
