A feast on the floor

The floor of the orchard during Christmas week and a litter of Bramley and Grenadier cooking apples that are providing a feast for birds and mammals alike.
Thrushes, Fieldfares and Blackbirds are using the fallen fruit an extra supplement, as are the Muntjack deer, rabbits and rats.
The apples will last until we get some heavy frost then they'll turn into pulp and disappear into the ground. Boxes of the fruit have been picked and stored but it was impossible to collect all of the the super abundant crop this year so the birds and animals get their share too.
