The wind is South Westerly and the wind chill is making colder, it's mid afternoon and the temperature outside is sitting at 1.2C.
The washes are all flooded to around four feet and a prolonged cold snap would start the ice forming and then we might just get to see some fen skaters zooming across the flooded farmland and on the shallower rivers too.
Meanwhile the skater on the weathervane will just have to stay optimistic that conditions for him will improve.
