The white stuff

The forecasters got it right for once and the white stuff arrived, and pretty well on time too. The temperature is still in the minus zone, to be precise it's -3.2C at the moment, it's late afternoon and the sky looks loaded with snow.
The two terriers are marching around and bumping into the chair trying to tell me it's time for their walk in the white world outside.
I think it will be a walk by the river to see if there are any fishable places although I suspect that everything will be solid with ice. There's nothing wrong with a reconnaisance though, so off we go in to the the great white wide open, but there aren't any skies of blue.
The cold evening turned into the coldest night yet giving a dawn thick with fog and -12.2C
