We know that the Peacock Butterfly is a pretty common sight in our gardens but seeing this one wake up from his or her hibernation, perched on a nice warm pebble was a cheery sight while we were in the front garden this morning.
The caterpillar stage of this butterfly feeds on nettles and I know we haven't got any of those, if we had I'd still be out there carrying out the bosses orders to get them pulled out and composted.
Sorry Peacock Butterflies but there are plenty of nettles in the hedgerows and dyke sides.
