We've just returned from a trip to the 'far corner', otherwise known as the North East, to visit friends and relations and to celebrate a 95th birthday. While were there we took the opportunity to photograph some Sunderland plaques collected by an old friend. We collect them but our collection is nothing like his for numbers and quality.
They were cheap and cheerful when they were made and they are little ceramic pieces of social history. The hand drawn type is a joy but the biblical quotes are not exactly cheery.
There will be more to follow to lift the mood to a more playful level on those days when you feel just a little depressed.
