It isn't just the skies that are falling, the mercury is too. The barometer is heading from change towards rain with some rapidity; meanwhile the stratocumulus is being pushed along in lines and layers by a strong wind.
There is a little bit of a glow in the west giving a pale wash of Naples Yellow on the horizon but overall the sky is grey and looks charged with rain. Sometimes the sky lightens and at other times it darkens, but overall it is a sombre evening and rain is certainly on the way.
I don't think we'll bother watering the vegetables this evening because the big watering can in the sky is about to be tipped over us.
