Bringing in the sheaves

A little bit Salvation Army, perhaps, but the sentiment is dead right.
The warm dry and sunny weather means that the harvest has gathered real momentum and the colour and texture of the fields is changing before our eyes.
It may still be August but the autumn colours are appearing, particularly on the wheat fields where the combine harvesters and balers have done their work.
Before you really have a chance to notice it the fields will be cleared, ploughed and harrowed and the next crop sown.
The seasons are changing and the zen-like cycle of farming life rolls on.
That's it then, the harvest is home.
