The last picture show?

A cinema in a state of disuse and neglect but there are obviously some people who wish to save the heritage. We saw this particular cinema in Porthmadog, a look inside would have been good but it was firmly locked up; 'the blacksmith was on' as they say in West Norfolk.
The name makes it sound like a proper cinema and just think of all those patrons who queued excitedly over the years to see The Big Sleep, Gone with the Wind, Shane or the Hammer films. Films where the programme included Pearl & Dean advertisements, Pathe News, trailers of forthcoming films and the support film, probably one of the Edgar Wallace Man of Mystery series and in those days usherettes really visited all parts of the cinema.
The only showmanship to be seen now is the faded architecture and the word 'Coliseum'.
We can't help but wonder where all the posters are that went in the display boxes on either side of the front doors.
