Romanesco, a thoroughly modern, up-to-date and contemporary member of the Brassica family. What is there not to like about this glorious vegetable especially for those children who refuse to eat their greens?
Admittedly they are a bit of a nuclear green but finished off in the oven with a sprinkling of Parmesan Cheese and a little black pepper this vegetable is absolutely delicious, it's good when eaten raw too.
The whole appearance of Romanesco might be that of a fractal or screen saver or even the cloth upholstery from a 1990's French car but don't let that put you off.
I wonder if they come in pink or red like cabbages?
