We've neglected architectural detail for a while so here is a first step to remedy the omission.
Obviously there will not be any prizes for researching and working out the date of construction but you can speculate on what the family who built the house used to do to make their living.
We reckon they were fruit growers because in the decorative corners there is an apple and a pear, in fact there is an old English apple called an Allington so there's another link.
Full marks though for the craftsmanship here, well, apart from one thing, why didn't they get that decoration over the date cartouche bang in the centre?
That's a job for the secret midnight stone mason.
