Hope in the hedgerow

Two separate, cheerful signs of hope growing in the hedgerow. The catkins are flowering on the Hazel bush near the house. We do get some lovely fresh green nuts off this bush in the early autumn so here's hoping this signifies a good crop.
Down at the bottom of hedgerow the Snowdrops are beginning to flower, cheery little things that they are. They just seem to say, to hell with the weather, whatever happens we are here to stay.
A new cycle for a new year is under way, grounds for optimism, even through the grey months of January and February.
