Still hanging around

February and still the odd apple is hanging onto the parent tree. This one is tiny, the runt of the litter you might say, but the survival skills are intact. So far it has resisted heavy rain, gales, frost, livestock and people walking past. The middle looks as if some bird has started to give it a bit of a 'beaking' and given up or been disturbed, no doubt it'll be back for seconds.
The little red apple is hanging on so long that the buds for leaf and blossom are forming up above on the end of the branch but we are pretty sure it won't last that long.
