Garlic at the ready

A truly inspiring picture of our early garlic bursting through the ground in one of our raised beds. This particular garlic was planted in late October and with all the wet and cold weather we thought we'd lost it. In other words a major crop failure, but now it's growing like a plant possessed thanks to the mild and sometimes sunny weather.
The Spring planted garlic looks as if it will catch it up but experience tells us that this late autumn planting should provide a really heavy crop. Let's hope that the chillies progress as well as the garlic.
Watch these bulbs you might say.
