A trip to deepest Suffolk the other day and on the way back we stopped to visit a favourite hostelry, 'The Dyke's End' at Reach, to have lunch and enjoy a perfectly pulled pint of pale ale.
Well with a glass insert like this one in the front door it would be rude not to go in and sample the ale. This is a piece of Victorian or Edwardian glass that is just beautifully etched and cut and I'm sure quite a few people covet it for their kitchen or bathroom, us included.
As far as we're concerned it's in the perfect place, the door at the entrance of a pub that sells good beer, really good food and as far as we're concerned comes highly recommended. Certainly by us.
Next time we go I think I need a designated driver so I can test more than one beer pump and there are some very nice looking Lodes nearby too, they must have Pike in them.
Now that is a proper plan beginning to form.
