Standing next to the village church after peering into the river, as all fishermen do, and a quick peep over the graveyard wall revealed this explosion of pink and pale yellow. There's nothing subtle about the Primulas but the mix of pink and pale yellow does work amongst the old gravestones.
The Lichen on the old stones is a little more subtle, understated and in keeping with the place but you can be sure that when the flowers are past their best the lichen will still be there at home on the stones doing what Lichen does.
