Another cropping of the marvellously named Purple Passion and we reckon that this is the finest asparagus we've ever tasted. Cut this morning and ready to go within half an hour, it just doesn't get any better. We can cut the asparagus every morning and when the big surplus really gets under way it's a quick blanching, then into cold water, packed and in the freezer in under an hour.
As we said on an earlier post this is another wild West Norfolk evening with the Purple passion and a bottle of fine white wine will wash it down nicely too.
The season of plenty is well and truly under way.
